Leave on your bandage for 3-4 days. During this time you can shower and exercise, but you should avoid excessive sweating. If sweat gets trapped underneath the bandage, take it off early.
Remove the bandage in the shower. Start at one edge and slowly pull the bandage out towards you, keeping it parallel to your skin. This process is similar to how you would remove a command strip from a wall.
Gently wash the tattoo with water and unscented soap, then pat dry with a clean towel or paper towel. Once the tattoo is completely dry, apply a thin and even layer of unscented white lotion.
Wash and moisturize the tattoo 1-2 times a day for the next two weeks. During this time do not scratch the tattoo even though it may become itchy and scab.
You should not soak or swim for at least 3 weeks after getting your new tattoo. Additionally, avoid saunas and direct sun exposure on the tattoo during the healing process.
After the healing period is over, always remember to wear SPF on your tattoo whenever you’re in the sun!
